Bringing Home the World Cup Trophy

Literally and metaphorically, there is no more important priority for US athletics than bringing home the World Cup trophy.

“Yes, but I prefer NFL football.”

And, I prefer Jelly Bellies.  This is well and good but Soccer is the World Game.  Being a nation with 300 million people has the advantage of allowing the US to be insular.  With this said, in our global economy, we cannot afford, financially and otherwise, to be insular.  Whether you like the sport or not, literally and metaphorically, the US needs to bring home the World Cup.
